Police Vehicle Struck by Gunfire
On Monday, May 14, 2012, at 2353 hours, officers were on preventive patrol when they were making a left turn onto Stuyvesant Avenue, from Prospect Street, when they heard gunshots.
The officers continued on Stuyvesant Avenue in an attempt to identify the source of the gunshots. As the officers traveled on Stuyvesant Avenue, they heard several additional gunshots in an extremely close proximity to their vehicle. Believing they were the targets of the gunfire; the officers reacted as trained. They immediately called for back-up units to assist, while gaining a more tactical position to address the threat. Once the scene was controlled, and evaluated, it was discovered that the police vehicle was struck by gunfire.
The area was saturated with back-up officers in an attempt to locate the shooter(s), who have currently eluded apprehension. Our Criminal Investigation Section, along with Federal, State, and local law enforcement agencies are actively investigating this incident.

Rape suspect sought

At approximately 1:52 a.m. on Wednesday, May 2, the above subject sexually assaulted a 54 year old woman as she stood outside of her apartment building smoking a cigarette. The incident occurred at the Bellevue Commons Apartments, 328 Bellevue Avenue, Trenton, NJ.

The suspect is described as a black male, with a medium/light brown complexion, 25-30 years of age with a medium build. He’s 5’9″ to 6’0″ tall, 150-170 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.

Chambersburg home invasion reported

Trenton police are searching for suspects involved in a home invasion robbery reported Monday morning, April 23. The crime occurred in the Chambersburg section of the city.

Police are looking for a black Jeep, which was driven from the scene of the crime on the 400 block of Elmer Street.

The home invasion was reported at 10:49 a.m. by people inside the home who said they had been tied up and robbed. They told police the home invaders had used curtains to restrain them, while they took TVs and other items before fleeing.

18 year old shot

An 18-year-old Trenton man is in stable condition after he was shot in the torso early Wednesday. The teen was walking in the area of Rosemont Avenue and Hermitage Avenue around 12:55 a.m., April 18, when he was approached by the gunman, dressed in all black. The 18-year-old turned to run and the gunman fired once before fleeing the scene. A full description of the gunman was not available.

 The Trenton Police Department is investigating an armed bank robbery that occurred today at 12:57 pm, Monday, April 16, 2012, at 360 Hamilton Avenue, Bank of America. 

 

Suspect is described as a white male, scruffy face, glasses, wearing: NY Yankees baseball cap, white long sleeve tee-shirt, and gray shorts.

Shooting in city’s Wilbur section

A Trenton man was wounded Wednesday afternoon, April 11, in a shooting outside convenience store in the Wilbur Section of the city. The shooting took place at the corner of South Cook Avenue and Winder Avenue.

Man suffers shotgun blast

A city man was wounded in the arm Monday night, April 9, by a shotgun-wielding suspect who opened fire as the man sat in a parked car. The 48-year-old man, who is expected to survive, was parked on the 200 block of Reservoir Street shortly after 10 p.m. when two people approached him. One of the two men had a scarf covering part of his face and the other was armed with a shotgun. They demanded the victim get out of the car. He refused and the suspect with the shotgun fired into the vehicle. Police did not provide a suspect description and no arrests have been made in the case.

Men shot in altercation at strip club

A shooting occurred early Saturday morning, April 7 inside the gentleman’s club at 721 S. Broad Street. According to reports, an argument had broken out among patrons and bouncers removed one individual from the club at about 2:21 a.m. Once outside the establishment, the patron fired a weapon into the building, wounding two men inside.

No description of the shooter has been provided and the suspect remains at large.
