  • July 30 --- A juvenile was shot in the leg in front of city fire headquarters at 244 Perry St. a little past 10:00 Friday night. According to reports at 11:05 p.m. on police radio, authorities were searching for a shooting suspect whom they identified as Larry London, 19, whose last known address was in the first block of Wainwright Avenue. The suspect was described as a black male with black hair, a tattoo of a star under his right eye, and several tattoos on his arms.

  • July 30 --- On Friday at approximately 2:50 am Trenton Police Officers were detailed to the area of East State Street and Stockton Street on a report of a shooting in progress.  When the officers arrived they located an unidentified male suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest area. The victim succumbed to his wound about 3:20 a.m. His identity will be released once the next of kin are notified. 
     

  • July 28 --- A shooting incident early Wednesday morning took the life of Brian Green, 23.  Shots were fired outside Club 88 on Ewingville Road at about 2:00 a.m.  Another man, 30 year old Corey Owens, was also shot during the incident.

  • July 25 --- An aggravated assault shooting occurred at approximately 3:17 pm Sunday in the first block of Beakes Street, Trenton, NJ.  The victim was identified as a 27-year-old African American male. It was reported that while the victim was walking in the first block of Beakes Street unknown suspects that were riding in an auto shot him.  The victim was treated at the Capital Health Regional Medical Center for a gunshot wound to his left thigh. The injury was non-life threatening. No suspect(s) description(s) was available.
     

  • July 22 --- An armed robbery occurred Thursday at 11 p.m. in the 1000 block Edgewood Avenue, where the 30-year-old male victim walking home was approached by a black male suspect and robbed of his cellphone, house keys and $10. The suspect is about 24 to 25 years old, and 5-foot-8 or 5-9.
     

  • July 21 --- A known Bloods gang member was shot in the arm Wednesday night. The unnamed 20-year-old victim told officers he was riding his bike down West Street when an armed suspect with a T-shirt over his face got out of a car and shot him, police said. The victim was shot in front of a home on the first block of West Street around 10:40 p.m. Police did not find a victim at the scene, but later located the 20-year-old inside a home on the 200 block of Morris Street, bleeding from the upper left arm. The victim was taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center, where he was treated and released.

  • July 19 --- Two men posing as police officers forced their way into a city apartment in a home invasion armed robbery early Monday. The victims were a 34-year-old male, a 34-year-old female and her 3-year-old daughter, police said. The male victim was watching television in his first floor apartment on the 800 block of Carteret Avenue at about 1:45 a.m. Monday, when he heard a knock at the door. When he asked who was there, police said, someone yelled out  "police." But when the victim opened the door, he saw two black men armed with handguns, and they weren't police officers. Police said the victim tried to slam the door shut, but the gunmen forced their way inside the home. The male victim started to struggle with one of the suspects, police said, while the female and her daughter hid in a closet.  During the struggle, the suspect's gun went off, police said. One shot was fired, but no one was hit. The bullet instead struck a desk in a nearby living room. Police said the gunmen then held the man down and robbed him of a silver chain, a watch and two rings. They also stole two cell phones before fleeing the home. Both assailants were described only as black males wearing white T-shirts. One had a black semi-automatic handgun and the other had a black revolver.
     

  • July 17 --- A man suffering a gunshot wound to the leg early Saturday turned up at St. Francis Medical Center.  Officers, at about 4 a.m. that morning, met the 22-year-old victim, who, police said, was so highly intoxicated that he couldn't help much with the details of the incident.  The victim did manage to tell police that he received a phone call that night from his cousin, who was asking for help because several other men wanted to fight him. The intoxicated cousin went to oblige his relative in trouble, police said, and  the two met up near the corner of South Clinton and Roebling avenues, where several males were arguing. The shooting victim told police he got in between his cousin and the other men and he pulled his relative away from the fight. As they were walking away though, one of the men in the group pulled out a gun and opened fire. Police said the man was struck in the upper leg and the wound was a "through and through," with the bullet passing in and out of the man' s thigh.  The gunman was described as a skinny Hispanic male, about 5-foot-8 with a bald head. He was wearing a gray shirt and blue jeans at the time of the shooting and he fired a gray semi-automatic handgun.
     

  • July 16 --- A car driving on Walnut Avenue in the city with two women and their two young children inside was shot at about 11:24 Friday night. Police said the victims, a 49-year-old woman, a 26-year-old woman, and two young boys, ages 5 and 2, were riding in a Nissan Maxima. They were on Walnut heading towards Chambers Street when they heard a single gunshot. Police said they quickly exited the area and didn't stop until they were on the first block of Mechanics Avenue. No one was injured, but when they got out, they realized their windshield had been struck near the passenger side.
     

  • July 16 --- A city man was shot in the leg while walking early Friday, but he doesn't know who shot him, or why, police said. The unnamed 32-year-old victim was dropped off around 12:15 a.m. on the first block of Breunig Avenue by his girlfriend, police said. The man heard a gunshot, then felt that he had been hit in the leg. His girlfriend came back and took him to Capital Health Regional Medical Center, police said. The victim suffered a fractured right femur and was listed in stable condition.

  • July 13 --- An aggravated assault occurred at approximately 7:32 pm Tuesday in the 1000 block of Cunningham Avenue, Trenton, NJ. The victims were identified as a 28-year-old and a 41-year-old Hispanic male, both of Trenton, NJ. It was reported that while the victims were in the 1000 block of South Clinton Avenue the 41-year-old Hispanic male observed two Hispanic males, with one of the Hispanic males being responsible for stealing his cellular phone on Saturday, July 10th. The 41-year-old Hispanic male confronted the two suspects and requested to get his cell phone back. One of the suspect gestured that the phone was up the street and signaled to be followed. The victims followed the two suspects. One of the suspects entered a residence and a short while later both suspects came out of an alleyway with one of them armed with a knife. One of the suspects punched the 28 year old in the face and a fight ensued. The armed suspect swung the knife at the 28-year-old victim and at the 41-year-old victim, with the 28-year-old victim blocking the knife with his left hand causing a laceration. Both suspects fled the scene. The first suspect was described as a 23 to 25 year old Hispanic male, approximately 6’ tall, long black hair, big nose, approximately 180 to 200 pounds, wearing a white colored tank top, beige short and sneakers. The second suspect was a Hispanic male approximately 5’07”, skinny with black short hair, wearing black jeans and a white T-shirt.

  • July 12 --- An aggravated assault occurred at approximately 7:21 pm Monday in the area of Martin Luther King Boulevard and Bond Street, Trenton, NJ.  The victim was identified as a 22-year-old African American male. It was reported that the victim was approached and stabbed numerous times by an unknown black female. The victim was treated at the Capital Health Regional Medical Center and listed in stable condition.

  • July 12 --- On Monday an armed robbery/shooting occurred at approximately 10:26 am in the first block of Ewing Street, Trenton, NJ. The victim was identified as a 59-year-old African American male. It was reported that two suspects approached the victim; one of the suspect was armed with a handgun. The armed suspect asked the victim to “give it up.” The victim grabbed the handgun and a struggle ensued between both and during the struggle the victim was shot once. The victim received a gunshot wound to his right bicep and was transported to the Capital Health Regional Medical Center to be treated. The victim was listed in stable condition. The first suspect was described as an African American male, wearing a black shirt and armed with a handgun and the second suspect was described as an African American male wearing a white shirt and dreads on his hair.

  • July 11 --- At approximately 6:05 pm Sunday, Trenton Police reporting to the Platinum Bar, 677-679 South Broad Street on a report of a sick or possible injured person found a Hispanic male lying on the ground with a head injury. The victim was identified as Henry Garcia Lopez, 25. During the investigation it was learned that the victim was inside the bar having cocktails with other individuals and that at one point an argument ensued between the group. The victim along with the other individuals was asked to leave the bar. It appeared that while outside the bar the argument continued and an individual pushed the victim to the ground causing him to strike his head on the concrete steps. The victim was transported to the Capital Health Regional Medical Center to be treated for his head injury. The victim succumbed to his injuries at approximately 11:55 a.m. Monday, July 12.

  • July 10 --- On Saturday at approximately 3:02 am while Trenton Police Officers Tomika Sommers and Jose Villanueva were on routine patrol they observed what appeared to be a single vehicle accident on the Market Street off ramp of route 29 south.  As they approached to investigate, the officers observed bullet holes in the right rear passenger rear door and window.  During this time the officers also
    observed an African American male, later identified as Demetris C. Lewis, 26 slumped over into the right front passenger side of the vehicle with his legs on the driver’s side floor area.  Mr. Lewis was bleeding from his facial area from what appeared to be gunshot wounds. Trenton Emergency Medical Service Personnel arrived and pronounced Mr. Lewis deceased.  The preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was traveling westbound on Market Street towards route 29 when he crossed over the curb, onto and across the grassy median, onto Market Street Eastbound, across the eastbound lane and finally coming to rest after crashing into the concrete wall under the route 29 overpass at the off ramp.

     

  • July 2 --- Trenton Police officers were detailed to the first block of Randall Avenue on a report of a man shot. When the officers arrived they located a 31-year-old African American male lying on the sidewalk suffering from a gunshot wound to this left forearm and his left upper thigh area.  The victim related that while he was walking, two black males approached him and demanded for him to “give it up” and began to go through his pockets.  A struggle ensued between the victim and the suspects.  The victim was punched in the face and at this time the victim started to run away from the suspects. Suddenly, the victim heard gunshots and soon realized that he was shot.
