  • April 26 -- Two young men were robbed of cell phones, cash and jewelry by a group of three armed robbers Saturday night, police said.  The young men, one 17 years old, the other 16, both of Trenton, were at the corner of Wayne Avenue and Calhoun Street shortly after 9:30 p.m. when they were approached by a group of three suspects, two of whom were armed with handguns.  Police said the 17-year-old youth was robbed of a black and gray Boost Mobil I-425 cell phone valued at $100, as well as $10 in cash. The 16-year-old was robbed of chain jewelry valued at $535, a brown T Mobil Shadow cell phone, valued at $300, as well as $11 cash, police said. The first suspect was described as a 21 to 22-year-old black male, 6 foot 2, with a stocky build and wearing a green Oakland A's fitted hat, white T-shirt, and armed with an unknown type of handgun. The second suspect was described as a 17 to 20-year-old black male, 5 foot 9, also stocky, wearing a purple hoodie and armed with a small black revolver.  The third suspect was described as a 17 to 20-year-old black male, 5 foot 9 and wearing a gray hoodie.
  • April 26 -- Just after 1 p.m., police were dispatched to the 600 block of Martin Luther King Boulevard on a shooting. They found a 32-year-old victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Trenton emergency medical personnel took the man to Capital Health System at Fuld, where he was treated and released.  Police said the man, whose name was not released, was walking to his car after buying groceries at a local supermarket when he was approached by a male suspect. The suspect, apparently desiring the man's groceries, demanded he "give it up." The suspect was armed with a semi-automatic handgun. When the man took a step farther, he heard a shot, felt pain, and fell to the ground. The suspect fled and the man went to a pay phone to call police.  The suspect is described as a light-skinned black male in his mid 20s, roughly 5 foot 6, 150 pounds, with a light mustache, and wearing a red baseball hat, white T-shirt with red letters and a few red lines, light blue jeans and red and white sneakers.
  • April 24 -- 37 year old Allen McKnight was shot to death on Home Avenue late Thursday, Trenton police said. Police officers responding to a 10:30 p.m. Thursday call reporting a shooting found the victim on a sidewalk the 200 block of Home Avenue, between Tremont and Elm streets. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 609-278-8477.
  • April 22 -- A burglary turned into an armed robbery when a 25 year old Hispanic male arrived home to find a black male suspect coming down the stairs in a house in the 600 block Beatty Street.  The suspect, described as 20-25 years old, dark complexioned, 5'10" - 6' tall, 170-180 pounds, long black hair, long white T-shirt, heavily tatooed on both arms, black jeans and armed with a handgun, was carrying green plastic bag.  The suspect put the gun to the victim's head and ordered him out of the house.
  • April 22 -- An armed robbery occurred at about 7:30 a.m. near the intersection of Anderson and South Clinton Avenue.  Police reported that while walking to school, the 13 year old victim was approached by a suspect who placed a knife to the juvenile's rib area and took a cell phone and I-pod.  The suspect was described as a 20-24 year old black male, 5'5'' tall, 130 pounds, dark skinned, mustache, wearing blue "dickie" style pants, gray hoodie and black sneakers.
  • April 19 -- Police were investigating a reported shooting in the 200 block of Spring Street Saturday night.  A portion of the street was roped off around 9 p.m. as police shined flashlights around windows, doors and garbage bins in the neighborhood.  Several police cars and officers were on the scene but police would give out no details other than to say the victim suffered a stomach wound.
  • April 19-- A 22-year-old woman was stabbed to death early Saturday afternoon at Cuyler Avenue and Freeman Lane.  The woman, Carla Diaz, was stabbed multiple times in the face and leg, according to a witness who saw the woman lying on the street after she drove her car down an alleyway.
  • April 16 -- Police said an unnamed 41-year-old victim went outside behind his home on the 700 block of Chambers Street just before 11 p.m. Wednesday to take out his garbage. While he was walking back to the house, he was confronted by a suspect who, producing a black handgun and demanding money, went through the man's pockets and took a cell phone.  The armed suspect was described as an teenage black male with a small Afro hairstyle and wearing a T-shirt and dark-colored baggy jeans. There were two other black male suspects, police said, one wearing a hoodie and one wearing a red shirt.
  • April 12  An employee of a Roebling Avenue deli was shot in the face Saturday night at around 9:20 p.m. outside the store.  Detectives said two armed men were involved in the possible robbery that man with a gunshot wound to the right side of his face.  Police did not name the 61-year-old victim who was found outside the deli by officers responding to the robbery call. Minutes later an ambulance rushed him to Capital Health System where he is recovering.  A police search of the area yielded a .38-caliber semiautomatic handgun in the 300 block of Genesee Street. Detectives aren't sure if the weapon was used in the shooting.  Police said the first suspect was described as a tall, slim black man. The other was said to be a 5-foot-5-inch black man. Both were wearing all black clothing.

  • April 11 -- A Lawrence teenager was beaten by eight to 10 men who accosted him Friday night and demanded to know where he was from, then struck him repeatedly in the head with an unknown object.   The 16-year-old boy, whose name and address were not re leased by police, was found bleed ing from the head by police dispatched to break up a loud house party on Heil Avenue around 10:45 p.m., police said.  The victim told police he was approached by the group of men, described as black males, who began hitting him in the head after asking where he was from.

  • April 11 -- A 51-year-old man suffered several bruises and scrapes at the hands of two violent robbers near Casper Alley at about 6:25 a.m. on Friday, police said.

    The men beat up the city resident and demanded money, police said. Detectives said the injured victim was taken to Capital Health System at Fuld and released.

    Police described the robbers as two black men in their 20s.

  • April 11-- A 57 year old man was shot in the abdomen during an early morning home invasion on Walnut Avenue. The victim described the gunmen as three black men, 5 feet 5 inches tall and about 18 to 25 years old. Two were wearing black hooded sweat shirts and blue jeans, and one wore a gold or yellow hooded sweat shirt and blue jeans. All wore masks.
  • April 9 -- Police are investigating two shootings that occurred less than 90 minutes apart. The first occurred about 6:45 p.m. at Kelsey Avenue and Short Street, not far from Pennington Avenue, when a 36-year-old man was shot in the upper back as he was getting into his vehicle, police said.  The victim drove himself to the West District police station on Arti san Street. Officers there called an ambulance and the man, whose name was not released, was rushed to Capital Health System at Fuld hospital.

    Later, about 8 p.m., witnesses called police to report that they had seen a gunman, accompanied by another man, pull out a handgun and fire a single shot in the direction of four men standing near Elm Street and Home Avenue, police said.  No one was wounded by the shot, and both the suspects and the victims had fled the scene by the time officers arrived, police said.

  • April 7 -- A 19-year-old man was in critical condition after being shot multiple times at Walnut Avenue and Chambers Street on Monday evening, police said.  Police would not release the victim's name. It is unclear exactly how many times and where he was shot.  Evidence of the shooting at the scene was processed by the Trenton Police Crime Scene Unit. Detectives believe the teenager heard several gunshots before multiple bullets hit him. No gunman has been described yet.
